Beth Bengtson has been practicing yoga for almost 30 years. She took her first yoga class in college and instantly loved the way it made her body feel. Over the years, she has continued to deepen her knowledge of yoga through the study of yoga philosophy and her asana practice. Fascinated by the mind-body connection, Beth believes that uniting the mind, heart, and body on our mats and in our daily lives is critical for optimal physical, emotional, and mental health.
Beth has been an educator for 18 years. She was an elementary classroom teacher for 12 years. In 2023, she decided to enroll in a 200- hour Yoga, Social-Emotional Learning, and Mindfulness teacher training in order to bring the benefits of yoga to her third grade students. Becoming a certified yoga teacher inspired Beth to not only bring yoga to her students, but to others in her community, as well. She firmly believes that yoga should be inclusive and accessible to all.
Beth taught at Bend International School for 10 years. Last June, she made the difficult decision to leave her third grade teaching position to further her education by pursuing a Master’s in Education specializing in Social-Emotional Learning, Mindfulness, and Yoga. Beth is a passionate life-long learner, and is looking forward to bringing her growing knowledge of yoga and mindfulness to teens.
In October 2026, Beth will be offering an 8-week yoga and mindfulness program designed for 8th-12th grade students. Registration for this program opens on Wednesday, August 17th. Please click on the link in the navigation bar at the top of the page for more information about this program.
